Oops! Voter Registration Cards Go Out With Coultrap as Polling Place
The school building that's being demolished won't be a good place to cast a ballot come fall.
Voter registration cards just went out for folks living on Geneva's West Side.
And some of those registration cards have an unusual polling place in mind: the Coultrap facility at 1113 Peyton St.
That's unusual, of course, because Coultrap is in the process of being torn down. Exterior demolition work started earlier this week.
The Geneva Board of Education voted in February to demolish the building, parts of which were Geneva's original high school and date back to 1923.
Five of Geneva's 21 precincts have used Coultrap as a polling place. In fact, they are Precincts 1 through 5.
