Geneva Park District’s Peck Farm Park is hosting a variety of educational programs to connect youth and families with nature through the end of the summer.

Butterfly Chase

Take a wild and wonderful scavenger hunt through the Butterfly House at Peck Farm Park’s Butterfly Chase, Wednesday, July 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Children ages 5 to 10 will find clues and butterfly parts to build their own butterfly to take home. Bubble, Fizz, BOOM!

Become a mad scientist at Peck Farm Park’s Bubble, Fizz, BOOM! program, Saturday, July 26 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Children ages 5 to 8 will perform fascinating experiments while creating some truly amazing reactions with common household items. After Dark at Peck

Uncover the mysteries of nature After Dark at Peck! Each night will feature a hike, craft, story or campfire. Families will learn about Native Nighttime Animals, Saturday, July 26, or play with Glow-in-the-Dark Bubbles, Saturday, August 2. After Dark at Peck classes take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Advance registration is required. Cost is $5 per person. Peck Farm Park is located at4038 Kaneville RoadGeneva. On the Monarch Trail

Learn about the magnificent migration of Monarch butterflies at Peck Farm Park’s On the Monarch Trail program, Monday, July 28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., or Wednesday, August 6 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Children ages 5 to 10 will embark on an imaginary journey of a butterfly from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, and onto its fascinating migratory flight to Mexico; before hiking around Peck Farm Park to search for milkweed plants in the prairie and real Monarch butterflies in the Butterfly House. Marsupial Madness

Hop on over to Peck Farm Park’s Marsupial Madness program, Wednesday, July 30 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Children ages 5 to 10 will learn about animals with belly pouches, and meet Peck’s resident marsupials—a pair of cute, little sugar gliders!
