Mayor Seeks Geneva Water & Wastewater Rate Structure Task Force
Do you want to be on the task force to help find a way out of this water mess?
Following City Council discussions concerning the City of Geneva's Water and Wastewater Enterprise Funds, Mayor Kevin Burns pledged to appoint a city of Geneva Water and Wastewater Rate Structure Task Force comprised of council members and citizens for developing a reasonable and responsible rate structure proposal should factors warrant suchmeasures.
The task force will be comprised of three council members and four resident of the city. Citizens interested in serving on the task force are encouraged to e-mail Burns at mayorburns@geneva.il.us expressing their desire to serve on this ad-hoc Task Force and explain briefly any relevant skills, insight or experience they possess which would make themsuited for such service.
“The purpose of this task force is to provide an impartial review of the city's water andwastewater operations, our ability to provide quality water and wastewater services to ourhomeowners and businesses and how best to meet the demands of regulations, supply and demand in the years to come. The recommendations reached will be considered by the City Council in the context of the FY 2012-13 budget process,” Burns said.

The task force is expected to be named by the end of July. Meetings will be held underthe guidelines of the Illinois Open Meetings Act and all interested parties are welcome to attend.
