Lauzen Announces Mortgage Relief Program

County Board chair candidate creates a Kane County portal for the federal Home Affordability Refinance Program 2.0.

  • Editor's note: The following is a press release from the Chris Lauzen for County Board Chairman campaign.

Today state Sen. Chris Lauzen, candidate for Kane County Board chairman, announced a Kane County portal for the federal Home Affordability Refinance Program 2.0 at the website LauzenKaneCountyMortgageRelief.com or the new Lauzen.com.

Homeowners who have kept current on their mortgage payment, but who have seen their property values dramatically decrease thereby disqualifying them for refinancing at lower interest rates, are encouraged to log onto the “LauzenKaneCountyMortgageRelief.com” website.

When they enter their address and press either the Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac buttons, they will see if their mortgage is guaranteed by one of the federal agencies that underwrites hundreds of billions of mortgage loans. The benefit of this program is significantly reduced interest rates on mortgages, no matter what your loan amount is to the value of your home.

Mortgaged-stress homeowners can immediately apply for this program which takes effect in March.

“While we freeze the property tax levy for the county, forest preserve and Fox Valley Park District (indirectly), it is my intention as board chairman to increase Kane County citizens’ prosperity through fostering more jobs paying higher wages in the private economy, reducing the costs of living in the county, i.e. freeze county property taxes, lower mortgage interest, savings in utilities and transportation expenses, and dramatically increasing the use of global “best practices” to improve the quality of life for residents. This innovative work-in-progress can save you hundreds of dollars per month and thousands per year ... think about what you can do with the extra cash flow," Lauzen said.

Using their own mortgage as an example, the Lauzens cut three years off its term and will save $100 per month ... more than $1,000 per year.

“While other candidates talk about marginal adjustments in local government that may or may not affect you, this mortgage relief program can save your family hard-earned cash every month,” Lauzen said.
