In Their Own Words: Here's Why You Should Vote for Park Board Candidate Susan Vander Veen

Susan Vander Veen is running against Sherry O'Berry for an open seat on the Geneva Park Board.

As a landscape architect, I am uniquely qualified to continue to serve on your Geneva Park Board.

My experience complements the district’s professionally diverse board. I have enthusiastically worked as a commissioner for my community for the past 12 years.

I will be honored to be elected for a third term so I can continue working with the board and staff that are committed to listening and responding to the suggestions and needs of GPD’s participants. We are dedicated to maintaining our reputation of fiscal responsibility and restraint while providing the families of Geneva the programs, facilities and parks they depend on.

Editor's note: Geneva Patch invited candidates in contested races for Park Board, City Council and School Board to write their own autobiographical introductions and final essays. You can read them all in the Elections 2011 tab at the top of the home page.
