Hultgren Co-Sponsors Keep Your Health Plan Act

"I want Americans who are satisfied with their current coverage to be able to keep it."

U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) has co-sponsored the Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013, H.R. 3350, to protect Americans whose plans have been canceled as a result of the healthcare law.

“Americans were promised they could keep their insurance plan under Obamacare, but we’ve found that just isn’t the case,” said Hultgren. “Just this week, a constituent of mine told me she received a letter from her insurer informing her that not only would her family of five lose their current plan by the end of the year, but they would be charged at least $370 more per month—for less coverage. And we’ve seen countless others nationwide with similar stories. This is a broken promise and it’s unacceptable.

“I want Americans who are satisfied with their current coverage to be able to keep it. The President’s healthcare law should not coerce Americans into buying new plans that cost more and cover less or cover procedures they don’t need or want.”

H.R. 3350 would ensure Americans who have health plans available on the market now would be able to keep them, and that Americans who keep their current health plans would not face a penalty under the President’s healthcare law.
