Geneva Gets Ready to Celebrate Earth Day April 16

April 16 is just around the corner, and it's a good day for all of us, because it's Earth Day.

The Natural Resources Committee of Geneva is inviting all residents to an Earth Day Celebration beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16.

Geneva's Earth Day event will be a time to gather and share information about opportunities to further improve the environment.

Participants will be able to meet Geneva merchants who sell products to improve the environment, learn about technologies that may be applied to our homes and businesses, drop off items that can be recycled, enjoy food from local farmers, get a bicycle ready for summer, try an obstacle course to test bicycle balance, and enjoy the day with friends and neighbors.

This year's event will be held at River Park of Geneva where tours will be given, visitors can learn about the geology that shaped the landscape around Geneva, and how native plants of the prairie ecosystem are an important aspect of our history.

River Park is located at 151 North River Lane—about two blocks north of State Street.
