Friendship Station Pre-Kindergarten Open House Is Tuesday, Jan. 22

Registration for children currently enrolled in Friendship Station Preschool will be accepted Jan. 23 through Feb. 1.

The Geneva Park District’s Friendship Station Preschool will host its annual Open House, Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the East Wing of Geneva Middle School South. Parents and their children are invited to ask questions, meet staff and explore classrooms before registration for the 2013-14 school year.

As a joint program of the Geneva Park and School Districts, Friendship Station Preschool is follows the philosophy of learning through guided play. Play allows children to share, create, cooperate, interact and solve problems. In keeping with School District 304 guidelines for early learning and literacy, this program provides appropriate activities to enhance literary enrichment of young children.  Experiences in art, singing, games, storytelling, cooking, rhythm and movement foster self-control, physical coordination, social skills and a positive self-image in each student.

Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 4-year-old classes meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. AM programs meet from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and p.m. programs meet 12:30 to 3 p.m. Children must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, to enroll in the 3-year-old program. Children must be 4-years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013 to enroll in the 4-year-old program.
