Early Voting Ends Thursday; Almost 6,500 Voters as of 11 AM

Registered voters have a few more hours to cast ballots for Tuesday's primary. Otherwise, voters can go to the polls on Primary Day.

As of 11 a.m. today, Thursday, a total of 6,493 Kane County registered voters have taken advantage of early voting for next week's primary.

Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham told Patch those early votes were cast by 5,106 Republicans, 1,349 Democrats and 38 non-partisans.

Approximately another 1,000 absentee votes have been received by mail.

He did not have similar figures for the 2008 primary, so could not compare early voting turnout numbers.

Cunningham said a computer program allows him in real time to track the number of early votes cast. Early voters can not go to the polls next week and vote again. He reminded the public that to do so is a felony.
