City to OK Outstanding Lineup of Fall Events

It takes a village, and the Geneva City Council is ready to do its share to help make some wonderful events come to life this fall.

The Geneva City Council Committee of the Whole almost certainly will give its approval Monday to help out with a battery of upcoming fun and worthwhile events.

Here's a chance to mark your calendar and see the city recommendations and planning that go along with each:

Aug. 26: —Recommend Approval of Special Event Class E-4 Liquor License for Chianti’s at 220 Campbell Street on Aug. 26, 2012. for Concours d’Elegance.

Sept. 2-3: 36th Annual —Recommend Approval of Request by Geneva Park District and Fox Valley Folklore Society for Use of City Parking Lot and Electric Service for 36th Annual Folk Fest Sept. 2-3, 2012.

Sept. 7-9: —Recommend Approval of Geneva Chamber of Commerce Special Event Class E-3 Liquor License and Waiver of License Fee for Festival of the Vine Sept. 7-9, 2012. Recommend Approval of Special Event Class E-4 and E-5 Liquor Licenses for Festival of the Vine Sept. 7-9, 2012. Recommend Approval of Request by Geneva Chamber of Commerce for Use of City Services and Street Closures, and Use of Public Right-of-Ways for Festival of the Vine Sept. 7-9, 2012.

Sept. 8: Cycle for a Cure—“Cycle for a Cure” Bike Ride Sept. 8, 2012.

Sept. 8: Walk—Recommend Approval of Request by Suicide Prevention Services for Use of Public Right-of-Ways for “Here for Life” Walk Sept. 8, 2012.

Sept. 28-29: Kiwanis "Peanut Days"—Proclaim Sept. 28-29, 2012, as Kiwanis “Peanut Days” in the City of Geneva. Recommend Approval of Request by Geneva Kiwanis Club for Use of Public Right-of-Way for “Peanut Days” Fundraiser Sept. 28-29, 2012.

Sept. 29-30: / Black Hat Days—Recommend Approval of Request by Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation for Use of Public Right-of-Way for Pumpkins for a Cure/Black Hat Days September 29-30, 2012.

Sept. 29: Trick or Trot Run—Recommend Approval of Request by Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation for Use of Public Right-of-Ways, Street Closures and Police Services for Trick or Trot 10K Run Sept. 29, 2012.
