City Of Geneva Demolishes East Side Home

A city-owned house on East State Street just west of Dairy Queen was torn down Tuesday as part of a city effort to consolidate parcels and encourage development.

The property is part of the East State Street Tax Increment Financing District and was purchased by the city last winter.

On Monday night, the Geneva City Council held a policy discussion about creating another East Side TIF District in order to promote development of the former Mill Race Inn property and adjacent parcels.

More on that at a later date.
