City Council Meeting, Youth Casting Call and More: 5 Things You Should Know for Monday, Aug. 15

Also, Geneva students may pick up course informtion this week.

Seal-coating of downtown parking lots will continue today. Please make sure to follow the posted parking restrictions.

And, roadwork will begin on the Sterns Road bridge just north of St. Charles.

1. Geneva's in Council Chambers. The council will hold a public hearing regarding the intent to sell General Obligation Refunding Bonds as an electric system alternate revenue source.

2. over Sterns Road north of St. Charles. Roadwork crews will be staining the bridge and should be finished, weather permitting, by Aug. 26.

Motorists should expect longer traffic times and are asked to use caution when driving in work zones.

3. The city of Geneva will be (North of Hamilton Street between River and First) plus half of the South River Lane lot (between West State Street and Hamilton Street.)

Residents are asked to have all vehicles out of these areas by 7 a.m. For more information, see www.geneva.il.us and click "Construction Projects" for updates.

4. Geneva students can pick up course schedules and information regarding the 2011-2012 school year this week. Also, parents and students will have help with important life decisions including college choices and course schedules with a new . Naviance will track and analyze data about college and career plans, in order to provide up-to-date information specific to Geneva schools.

5. Actors and singers ages 10 to 19 are asked to audition for the Fox Valley Repertory's youth musical, , from 3 to 5 p.m. Auditions will take place on the Preservation Hall Studio Stage at Pheasant Run Resort.

Interested children should prepare and memorize a one-minute monologue and 16 bars of a song that best displays their talent. An accompanist will be provided and children should bring sheet music.
