Police closed Fabyan Parkway west of Kirk Road while firefighters extinguished the blaze and repaired a spot in the road, which had been damaged by the intense heat. Most traffic appeared to have detoured to Raddant Road.

Kirk Road remained open while officers directed traffic north and south.

Patch reader J.T. Maurovich was in the car behind the vehicle that burst into flames Tuesday morning, and the first thing he did was call the police. After he made the call, he captured the attached photo and video on his cell phone.
