Wind Chills at 15 Degrees Monday; Temperature to Drop Further Overnight

The National Weather Service forecast for Geneva calls for freezing temperatures and west northwest winds.

Here's hoping all the Geneva students who went to school today dressed warmly.

As teachers contract negotiations warmed up Sunday night and rain and Tim Dobbins pelted the Bears on Soldier Field, temperatures began to fall. At 10 a.m. Monday, the temperature is 28 degrees with wind gusts up to 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service report for latitude 41.93 degrees north and longitude 88.25 degrees west.

The wind chill factor is 15 degrees, and it will get colder.

The forecast for Monday night is partly cloudy, with a low around 18. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

The balance of the week isn't as chilly. A high of 39 is expected Tuesday—then 46 on Wednesday, 48 on Thursday and back into the 50s on Friday.
