West Lane Mailbox Pushed Over Intentionally

Police reports: Among the police blotter roundup this week is the disappointing news that somebody pushed over a mailbox, possibly for fun or for spite, causing $500 damage.

Retail theft under $300—Police issued a notice to appear in court to Cassandra M. Kent of St. Charles, who was charged with taking about $170 at various times from Home Goods, 706 Commons Drive, Geneva, reports said.

Cell Phone Taken at School—Someone took a pink cell phone valued at about $70 from a girls purse inside the athletic locker room at Geneva High School sometime between 3 and 3:50 p.m. Sept. 7, reports said.

Mailbox Knocked Over—Someone did about $500 in damage to a mailbox in the 500 block of West Lane sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sept. 9, and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 10, reports said. At about 2 a.m., the resident heard laughter and tires screeching and observed a light-colored subcompact driving north on West Lane. Reports said it looked like the mailbox had been pushed the mailbox until it fell over.
