Wallets Stolen Dec. 1 From Women in Randall Road Stores

Women's wallets stolen within a two-hour period in separate thefts at separate establishments along Randall Road.

Be careful while you're out doing your holiday shopping. There's always the possibility that someone is looking to snatch away some of your holiday cheer.

There were two thefts of women's wallets within a couple hours on Dec. 1 from stores located along Randall Road in Geneva. In each case, the women's purses were hanging in a place that could be reached—one on a chair, the other from a baby stroller.

Theft Under $500—A woman reported to that someone took her pink leather wrist-type wallet from her purse while she was at Panera Bread, 1492 South Randall Road, sometime around 3:05 p.m. Dec. 1, police reports said.

The victim told police she was seated near the rear of the restaurant with her purse hanging from her chair. The woman told police that a black male removed the wallet from her purse and then exited the store with another black male and ran south through the parking lot. No additional description of the subjects was provided in the police report.

The wallet was valued at $65 and contained about $90 in cash and various identification and credit cards, reports said.

Theft Under $500—A women reported to police that someone stole her wallet sometime between 4:14 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Dec. 1 while she was shopping at Barnes & Noble, 102 Commons Drive, Geneva. She said her purse was hanging from her baby stroller while she was shopping.

The leather wallet was valued at $95 and contained $50 in cash, various credit cards and two empty checkbooks containing deposit slips, reports said.
