'Vice Lords' Gang Symbols Painted on Fence

Criminal Defacement of Property: Reports say markings could signal gang activity in Geneva.

Someone painted what appeared to be a “crude rendition of a top hat with a downward pointed pitchfork and the letters ‘V’ and ‘L’ on either side of the top hat” on a wooden fence in the back yard of a home in the 700 block of Richards Street, reports said.

“It is believed that the markings indicate the existence of the Vice Lord street gang in the area,” reports said.

The marking is similar to one reported Dec. 2.
