Vehicle Burglaries: Someone Breaks Window to Get Purse From Car Parked at Sunset Pool

Geneva Police Reports: Car break-in at Sunset lot is one of three vehicle burglaries in Geneva blotter.

Be careful when you park your car at a park or near a golf course.

Two purses taken from cars at parks, and golf clubs taken from a car parked at a home near Eagle Brook Country Club were found in this week's blotter.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle—Someone broke a front passenger-side window of a Cadillac Esplanade parked at the Sunset pool lot sometime between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. June 20 and stole a leather purse, Geneva police reports said. The purse owner said she did not have any valuables in the purse because she brought her wallet with her when she entered the pool area. The vehicle was parked unattended in the north side of the parking lot. The purse was valued at $50 and the damage to the window was estimated at $700, reports said.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle—Someone took golf clubs, a golf bag and electronic range-finder from a car parked and unsecured in the driveway of a home in the 1400 block of Keim Circle. The estimated cost of the stolen items is $1,900.

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle—Someone took a purse from a vehicle parked in the northern parking lot of Wheeler Park sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. June 14, reports said. The purse contained several credit cards, about $400 in cash and some gift certificates. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at $450.
