An unincorporated West Chicago man who was reported missing Wednesday was found dead the next day, the DuPage County Coroner's Office confirmed on Friday.
Aaron Brothers, 44, was found lying outside next to a vacant house at 28W588 Lester Street in unincorporated West Chicago, the Coroner's Office said. Police were called at 7:02 p.m. Thursday to the scene, which is located east of where he lives in the same neighborhood.
An autopsy was conducted Friday morning, and the cause is of death is pending the pathology and toxicology results, according to the Coroner's Office. The autopsy did not indicate how long he had been deceased.
"The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is no longer seeking assistance in locating the missing West Chicago man," the Sheriff's Office said in a brief statement on Friday. "Aaron Brothers has been located and the missing (person) investigation is now closed."
Police said Aaron Brothers lived in the area of Sunset Avenue and Lester Street near West Chicago's southeast side. He was last seen on the evening of July 8, but his family heard him in the residence on the early morning of July 9, according to a previous news release.
The Sheriff's Office initial attempts to locate Brothers were not successful, so they enlisted the public’s help on Wednesday afternoon.
Funeral arrangements for Brothers were not yet finalized Friday afternoon.
