Two Women Charged With Breaking Into St. Charles Home to Batter an Ex-Boyfriend

Suspects arrested for beating up a former boyfriend and his new girlfriend.

An Elburn woman and an acquaintance broke into the St. Charles home of her former boyfriend early Sunday morning and battered the victim and his new girlfriend, according to a police report.

Officers arrested Caitlyn R. Knight, 21, 4N216 Citation Lane, Elburn, and Octacia L. Williams, 23, 312 County Line Road, Maple Park. Each were charged with two counts of home invasion, a Class X felony punishable from six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The 28-year-old male victim living in the apartment told officers he and his new girlfriend were asleep in his bedroom when they were awakened by Knight striking them with a set of keys and her fists. The victim said he witnessed a second offender, identified as Williams, punch his new girlfriend in the nose.

A Kane County deputy and his K-9 partner found Knight and Williams hiding several blocks from her home. Knight and Williams were taken into custody without further incident and transported to the St. Charles Police Detention Facility.

The female victim, suffering from cuts, bruises and contusions, was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to Delnor Hospital for further treatment. The male victim was treated at the scene for cuts and scratches to his right hand and forearm.

Police determined that Knight and Williams gained entry into the locked apartment by using a key still in her possession.

The victim related that he had just broken up with Knight the week before and that he knew Williams to be a friend of Knight.
