Traffic Alert: Route 31 Closed Sunday A.M. for Marathon Runners
Heads up: Route 31 from Stevens Street to the St. Charles border will be closed for awhile starting at 7 a.m. Sunday so that marathon runners can make their way through town.
At 7 a.m. Sunday, Route 31 will be closed from Stevens Street north to the St. Charles border so that runners from the first-ever Fox Valley Marathon can make their way through town.
The marathon begins at Route 31 and Route 64 in St. Charles, then goes south into Geneva. It will turn east onto Stevens Street, south on River lane, east on West State Street, then north to Water Street.
About 1,200 runners and at least as many spectators will line the streets.

Geneva police said to expect traffic delays, but because this is a first-time event, it is difficult to know the duration of the delays.
