Tornado Watch in Effect Until 3 a.m. Monday, May 20

A Tornado Watch is in effect for Kane County and others in Northern Illinois. There's also a Hazardous Weather Outlooke going on.

The National Weather Service-Chicago has issued a Tornado Watch for Kane County and the surrounding area until 3 a.m. Monday, May 20.

That goes hand in hand with a Hazardous Weather Outlook for out neck of the woods.

Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast, with wind gusts up to 65 mph, locally heavy rain and lightning. It's supposed to arrive "mid to late evening and early overnight."

"Wind will be the primary threat," the NWS-C says, but isolated tornadoes and large hail are possible.

Looking ahead, scattered thunderstorms are possible Monday through Wednesday night with the potential for severe weather. Heavy rains will be possible with any of the scattered storms—which could cause some local flooding.
