Three Theft Reports: Purse, Wallet and Center Hubcaps
Police blotter: Center-hubcap theft is a rising crimes. Also reported was a purse taken at the Herrington and a wallet at the high school.
Three thefts, all under $500 in value, all still interesting to those of us who live in Geneva, for a variety of reasons.
Center Hubcaps Stolen
Someone took four center hub caps from a Cadillac Escalade sometime between 4 p.m. May 24 and 6:20 a.m. May 25. The vehicle was in a parking lot in front of the residence in the 0-100 block of Simpson Street. The hubcaps cost $264 to replace, report said.

Center-hubcap theft is on the rise, according to a CBS-Chicago report. The incidents centered on Chicago parking garages, but it's clear that center hubcaps are being sought here in the suburbs, too.

Wallet Take at High School
Someone took a silver wallet from a purse that had been on the seat of a chair inside the main gym at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave., sometime between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. May 26, reports said. A GHS identification and about $40 in cash were taken from the wallet, which was valued at $75.
Purse Taken During Wedding Reception
Someone took a purse containing keys, credit card and driver’s license from a photographer who was working at a friend’s wedding at the Herrington Inn, 15 South River Lane, sometime between 11:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. May 29, reports said.
The purse was taken from a corner table of the Rock Spring Reception Room. The value of the purse and contents were estimated at $10.
