Thieves Take Metal From West Side Cell Phone Tower
Police Reports: More than $4,500 in equipment and repairs needed to cell tower on West Side of Geneva.
The heavy metal hits continue, as Geneva police reports find another case of stolen metal parts—this time from a cell tower on the West Side of town.
According to Geneva police reports, someone took four bus bars and about 30 feet of ground wire from the cellular telephone tower in the 2300 block of Gary Lane sometime between Jan. 1 and 2:30 p.m. May 16.
The site supervisor for American Tower Corporation estimated property damage and loss at about $4,500, with the bus bars valued at $2,000, the ground wire at $500 and the damage repair at $2,000.
