Thief Apparently Fails to Break Into BMO Bank ATM

Bank customer notifies police after she stopped to make a withdrawal.

An unknown person or persons damaged the automated teller machine at BMO Bank, 1399 E. State St., sometime prior to 3:40 p.m. Nov. 9, Geneva police reports said.

A bank customer notified police after she stopped to make a withdrawal. Officers noted that the plastic lower door panel appeared to have been kicked or pried open.

The plastic cover of the panel was split down the middle, and the metal frame was bent. A digital number pad behind the panel was undamaged.

The estimated cost to repair the damage was $100.
