Theft Reports: Man Arrested for Taking Slip-On Shoes From Plato's Closet—And More

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Geneva's unusual theft reports include an arrest at Plato's Closet and the theft of some farm-tilling equipement.

Theft Under $500—Someone took two drag harrows from an area of a plant nursery near Continental Envelope, 1700 Averill Road, sometime between April 14 and April 21, Geneva police reports said. The plant grower explained that the property is owned by Continental Envelope, but he leases it to grow assorted plants. The drag harrowers—which are soil cultivation implements used to smooth the ground as well as loosen it, according to Wikipedia—were lying on the ground next to a hoop tent he’s put up on the property. The estimated value of the drag harrowers is $100. 

ARREST: Retail Theft Under $500—Geneva police arrested Aaron Feltgen, 31, of Geneva on charges of retail theft around 3:10 p.m. April  19 at Plato’s Closet, 1900 S. Randall Road, reports said. Feltgen is charged with taking a pair of Nike slip-on shoes valued at $35 from the store, according to a complaint in the 16th Judicial Circuit Court. He posted $150 bail and has a court date of May 14 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Theft Under $500—Someone took a large gray birdcage, gray planters with pink flowers inside and a gray rack from the sidewalk in front of Denise Home Adornments, 221 S. Third Street, sometime between 6:30 p.m. April 27 and 11:30 a.m. April 28, reports said. The items were valued at about $260 in total.
