Theft in Geneva: Pelican Ornament, a Teak Bench and a Vehicle Registration Sticker
Police reports: It is amazing what some people will steal.
It is often curious what people will steal.
Our most-recent collection from the blotter confirms that. Even a pelican yard decoration, if it's not securly fastened, can fly away.
Here are three items, all in the category of theft under $500.

Someone took a 20-inch concrete pelican yard ornament from the yard of a home in the 1100 block of Appleton Lane sometime between noon March 4 and 7 a.m. March 5, reports said. The ornament was located near the front door of the residence and was valued at $100.
Someone removed the registration sticker from the license plate of a vehicle parked in the 0-100 block of South Second Street, reports said. The theft took place sometime between Jan. 25 and 11:11 p.m. March 6, according to reports.

Someone took a decorative metal and teak wooden bench from the front of Gibby’s Wine Den, 1772 S. Randall Road, Suite 220, sometime between 4 p.m. March 7 and 9 a.m. March 8, reports said. The bench was about 5 feet wide, with wooden slats and metal framing. The bench was valued at $500.
