Theft from Locker at the High School
Police blotter: It's just one of the facts of high school life. Stuff gets stolen from lockers. There's just more cool stuff these days than when a lot of us parents went to school.
It is one of those facts of life. Kids steal stuff from other kids' lockers. It's nothing new in the pantheon of suburban crime. I'm sure it's happened as long as were have been lockers.
But in this day and age, the stakes are sometimes a little higher than they were when, say, many of us parents were going to school.
More students have and and other electronic equipment of high value. More students carry credit cards and cash in their wallets, and leave their wallets in the locker instead of a back pocket. So there are targets and temptations for theft that weren't to be found in lockers two decades ago.

Someone took a black leather wallet containing a debit card, Social Security card, Illinois driver’s license and about $50 in cash from a gym locker at , 416 McKinley Ave., between 3 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. March 7, reports said.
