Teacher's Car Scratched at High School, Graffiti at Heartland Elementary

Police blotter: End-of-the-year mischief reported at schools.

A couple incidents of vandalism at schools took place prior to the end of the year. Here are two from the police blotter, one at Geneva Community High School, the other at Heartland Elementary.

Criminal Damage to Property Under $500—Someone damaged the vehicle of a faculty member at Geneva Community High School, 416 McKinley Ave., sometime between 7:25 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. May 25. The vandal or vandals scratched the driver’s side door and the driver’s side sliding door of a Ford Windstar parked in the high school parking lot. The estimated cost to repair the vehicle is $500.

Criminal Damage to Property—Someone damaged with graffiti a wall in the back of Heartland Elementary School, 3300 Heartland Drive, sometime between 2:45 p.m. June 2 and 7:30 a.m. June 3, reports said. Heartland Elementary School Principal Adam Law told police he would have the school custodian remove the graffiti. The property damage was valued at less than $500.
