String of Thefts at St. Charles East High School
The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Geneva isn't the only high school that sees thefts from time to time. Our neighbor to the north is a case in point.
St. Charles East High School students seem to be experiencing a rash of theft, according to . On Feb. 7, a student told the school resource officer that her $300 SLR camera and bag were stolen while she was inside a school bathroom. She said had set down the bag for one minute and, when she turned back, it had gone missing. Police questioned one student and a surveillance video showed more than 20 other female students leaving the bathroom when the camera was reportedly stolen. However, no arrests were made.
On Feb. 8, a different student at school told the resource officer that, two days prior, her 32GB iPod Touch was missing, according to police. She had left her backpack alone during study hall and, when she returned to it, noticed it was open. Later, she found that the iPod was gone. No arrests were made.

On Feb. 13, yet another East student reported to the resource officer that someone that a male student had been tugging at her backpack during 7th period class, according to police. She later found her 32GB iPhone 4S missing.

Woodstock woman arrested for theft of $500 in clothing from Von Maur
Alejandra Olvera-Garnica, 27, of 10625 Route 14, Woodstock, was arrested for retail theft on Feb. 25, according to a police report. She allegedly took more about $517 in property, including a denim pants and a Coach purse, from Von Maur, located at 3810 E. Main St.
