Storm Hit Parade Plays On As Heat Arrives

The National Weather Service Chicago is forecasting scattered showers and thunderstorms Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

The rains continue to add to the already high Fox River, although the NWS-C has not issued a flood warning as of Monday, July 8.

Meanwhile, the heat index values are expected to get as high as 96 are on Monday. Although the high temperature wasn't expected to get to 90, the heat and humidity area bad enough for the city of Batavia to go on an electricity peak alert for three hours and Monday and likely on Tuesday.

All of that heat and humidity are making conditions ripe for thundershowers. Tuesday's are expected to come mainly after 10 a.m. during the day and back again at night. Wednesday's storms are expected before 1 p.m.

The NWS-C has a Hazardous Weather Outlook in place for thunderstorms, some of which may produce locally heavy rainfall, wind gusts of more than 45 mph and small hail.
