State: Geneva Doctor's Medical License Suspended for Having Sexual Relationship with Patients
Mark G. Lewis, a physician at American Family Doctor in Geneva, is also accused of inappropriately prescribing controlled substances, according to media reports.
State regulators have suspended a Geneva doctor's medical license over claims he was having sexual relations with patients and inappropriately prescribing controlled substances to several people, according to the Daily Herald.
Mark G. Lewis, M.D., of St. Charles, had his physician, surgeon and controlled substance license suspended on June 26 and is expected to appear before the Medical Disciplinary Board on July 9, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
The charges allege a patient said she had a sexual relationship with Lewis and Lewis told a state investigator he continued to have a sexual relationship with a former patient — who he also hired to work at his office, American Family Doctor, 2197 Blackberry Drive in Geneva, according to the article.
The newspaper reports Lewis also continued to prescribe the former patient controlled substance medication, including Xanax, Norco, Valium and Vicodin, even though he knew she was abusing the drugs, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

Another patient in June 2012 contacted police to report Lewis was sending her inappropriate text messages that were sexual in nature, according to NBC Chicago.
Lewis was also the subject of a lawsuit that alleges he sexually abused and raped a woman while she slept in November 2012, the Daily Herald reports.An investigation into Lewis was ongoing by St. Charles Police and no criminal charges have been filed, according to NBC Chicago.
The lawsuit was recently settled on April 22 out of court, according to the article.
