St. Charles North Grad Dies Following Missouri Crash

A St. Charles North graduate died this past week of severe head trauma following a car crash on April 11 in Missouri, according to the Kane County Chronicle. 

Kyle Slinker, 19, who was currently studying business at Elgin Community College, was a passenger in a car driven by Nicholas Kisereu, 19, of South Elgin, on their way to visit a relative at the University of Missouri in Columbia, according to the article. Zachary Richman, 20, of St. Charles, was a passenger in the vehicle. 

The crash occurred when a 2006 Dodge Dakota struck the driver's side of Kiseru's car at a "hazardous intersection" where Missouri State Trooper James Bava said there have been several fatal accidents, according to the Kane County Chronicle. 

A visitation for Slinker will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. in St. Charles, according to his obituary. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. 

Slinker is survived by his parents, R. Craig and Jeanne Marek Slinker; and his brothers, Nathan and Lucas. Slinker was a member of the 2011 St. Charles North State Final Bowling Team, according to his obituary. He was born in Hinsdale.
