St. Charles Man Gets Prison in Dry Cleaners Burglary
Cash and safe taken in May 2011 burglary at Dulles Cleaners.
A St. Charles man already in prison on an unrelated case was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a May 2011 burglary at an Elmhurst business, police said Thursday.
Richard Jones was found guilty of burglary during a July 11 hearing before Judge Daniel Guerin. He is being held in the Dixon Correctional Center.
Elmhurst police were called to Dulles Cleaners, 128 Addison Road, on May 30, 2011, and found the rear door had been forced open. Cash and a small safe had been taken. Investigators learned of similarities between the Elmhurst burglary and one in Orland Park where a suspect had been identified, police said.

Elmhurst Detectives were able to develop evidence and tie Jones to the Dulles Cleaners burglary. Jones is also serving time for a pair of Cook County burglaries. He is scheduled for parole in 2016. Illinois Department of Correction records show Jones has a history of prison stints for burglary and attempted burglary that date back 30 years.
