St. Charles Man Charged With Showing Handgun During Argument in Geneva

Geneva police arrested Salvador Mendez, 22, of St. Charles on a charge of disorderly conduct after the victim said Mendez displayed a handgun in a verbal altercation around 2:14 a.m. in the 50 block of North River Lane, reports said.
Mendez “displayed what the victim believed to be a handgun after a verbal altercation with the victim,” the complaint said. “The subject displayed the weapon in such a manner to cause the victim to be alarmed and disturbed, concerned for his own safety and the safety of others, while provoking a breach of the peace.”
Mendez has a court date of March 20 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
