St. Charles Man Arrested for DUI, Failure to Yield After Sept. 21 Semi-Vs.-Saab Crash in Downtown Geneva

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The front of a Saab 9-3 driven by Richard Osburn, 61, of St. Charles collided with the rear of a Peterbilt Semi driven by Troy Sederberg, 49, of Elliott, IN, around 7:35 p.m. Sept. 21 in th 100 block of West State Street about 89 feet west of South First Street, reports said.

The 48-foot, 80,000-pound semi was eastbound in the 100 block of West State waiting for the traffic signal at South First Street when the Osburn’s Saab “failed to yield and rear-ended” the semi, reports said.

The driver of the Saab said the semi slammed its brakes on, causing the accident "(but) there were no skid marks or other physical evidence to support this,” reports said.
