Someone Takes Wallet From Back Room of Thrift Shop—Plus Other Thefts in Geneva
Geneva police reports: Here's a roundup of theft reports in Geneva.
You hate to see a wallet stolen anywhere, but it seems worse when it's taken from the back room of a thrift shop. That's one of three theft reports recently collected from the files.
Theft Under $500—Someone took a woman’s wallet and its contents from a back room of the Good Cents Children retail shop, 220 W. State St., sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 18, Geneva police reports said. The multi-colored zebra print wallet had multiple cards and credit cards in it but contained no cash. The value of the wallet was estimated at $60.
Theft Under $500—Someone took orange nylon saddle bags from a black bicycle on the porch of a house in the 500 block of Summit Street sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 19 and 5 p.m. Aug. 21, Geneva police reports said. The bags contained a Bell Furio bicycle helmet. The value of the bags was estimated at $25 and the helmet at $50, reports said.

Theft Under $500—Someone cut a cable bicycle lock and stole a dark orange “K22 Sidewinder DS with full front and rear suspension, disc brakes, black handle bar extensions and trip/speed odometer” from the north bike rack at the Geneva Metra station depot sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 17, Geneva police reports said. The bicycle is valued at $375.
