Rain is changing to snow, and it's slick—so be careful.

Not the kind of plowing you want to see when it's snowing. Fortunately, the driver escaped in time to save his life.

RAIN WILL TRANSITION OVER TO ALL SNOW THIS MORNING AS MUCH COLDER AIR MOVES ACROSS THE REGION. (check)
THIS SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA WITH 3 TO 5 INCHES POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WISCONSIN AND ILLINOIS STATE LINE (yikes!) ... 1 TO 3 INCHES ALONG THE INTERSTATE 88 CORRIDOR (OK, that's better) ... AND LESSER AMOUNTS OF UP TO 1 INCH SOUTH OF THE KANKAKEE RIVER.
(And it's not going to get better soon.)
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN ... WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY. AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN WILL CONTINUE TO BRING PERIODIC CHANCES OF SNOW TO THE AREA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
SOME ACCUMULATING SNOW IS POSSIBLE DURING THIS PERIOD. (The less, the better.)
