School Bus, Vehicle Crash Near Big Rock; Drivers Injured, Students OK

The driver of a vehicle and a Big Rock Elementary School bus driver were injured in a crash around 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Big Rock Fire Department responded to a car-versus-occupied-school-bus crash on Route 30 west of Davis Road, Kane County Sheriff's Office spokesman Pat Gengler said.

The driver of the bus and vehicle involved were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nine students were on the bus, and they were all released at the scene and transported by a different bus to the Big Rock Elementary School.

The parents of the children who were on the bus at the time of the crash have all been contacted by school officials.
