'Runaway' 13-Year-Old Girl Comes Home Safe, Intoxicated
Batavia police reports include two unusual cases of underage drinking, including a reported runaway and an attempted break-in to a bar.
Reports of a runaway 13-year-old girl in Batavia caused concerns for many adults Friday, but the girl was found unharmed.
According to Batavia police reports, an officer responded to a home on Batavia's east side at 11:28 p.m. Sept. 7 for a report of runaway 13-year-old girl. The girl returned home while the officer was there. She was visibly intoxicated, according to reports.
On that Sept. 8 in Batavia, a 16-year-old Batavia boy was observed at 12:38 a.m. attempting to gain access to a bar downtown. The boy was intoxicated, according to a police report. He was taken into custody, transported to the Police Department, processed and released to his father.
