REPORTS: Death in Batavia Monday Might Be Tied to Bike Accident

Police assure the public that the Fox River Trail is safe. The body of a 46-year-old man was discovered near the River on Monday.

Police no longer consider foul play to be involved in the death of a 46-year-old Aurora man whose body was found in Batavia on Monday.

Instead investigate Brett Straight's death as a possible bicycle accident, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

Police are fairly confident that the incident was not a suicide, according to the story.

No gunshot wound or firearm caused the death of the victim, Glenn Autenrieth, a Batavia deputy police chief, told the Daily Herald.

The public is not in any danger, the Herald's story said.
