Update: Helicopter Flying Over Station Was Taking Pictures for City; Unrelated to Metra Train Stop
Geneva residents were surprised to see a helicopter hovering over the area of the Geneva Metra station. At about the same time, passengers on an Metra train from Chicago to Elburn were asked to disembark. The items are unrelated.
Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns said a helicopter flying over the Metra station in Geneva early Friday was on a picture-taking expedition for the city of Geneva.
It was an apparent coincidence that a Metra train at about the same time stopped at Villa Park and asked passengers to exit the train. The train was bound for Elburn.
One of the passengers on the train, Geneva Patch contributor and blogger Chris Emma, said all passengers of the Chicago-to-Elburn train were asked to exit in Villa Park, except passengers going to Elburn.

Emma said passengers were told the exit because of mechanical difficulties.
A Metra report says Train #31 was running late.

Train #31 scheduled to arrive Elburn at 1:06 p.m., is on the move operating approximately 75 minutes behind schedule due to an earlier mechanical problem. This train will make all stops to Elburn. Updated at 1:25 p.m.
Geneva police Cmdr. Julie Nash said earlier that the Police Department was not contacted regarding any emergency situation.
