Police to Conduct Roadside Safety Checks on I-88 Ramp in Kane County

The following information comes from a Illinois Department of Transportation press release.

The Illinois State Police will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in Kane County during the hours of 11 p.m. on Friday, April 25 until 4 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, according to Captain Patrick Kimes.

The RSC will be held on the westbound exit ramp from the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) to Illinois Route 31.

The ISP has zero tolerance for impaired driving in Illinois.  Officers working this detail will be watchful for drivers who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, or driving under the influence (DUI).

Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road.

This project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.

Dumbest idea ever... that ramp is a blind corner everyone races up... they are going to get someone hurt or killed, i hope its a cop and not an innocent person trying to get home...

Adam, did I read that correctly? How about "I hope nobody gets hurt"?

Nope, someone is going to get hurt because of the ignorant cops and i hope its a cop that gets hurt...
