Police Reports: The Curious Case of the Stolen 'Concrete' Goose Wearing a Fourth of July Dress

This is the second of a series of quasi-strange items found in this week's Geneva police blotter.

Welcome back to Masterpiece Theater's "Mysteries of the Week." I'm your host, Rick Nagel, and as you'll recall, we left off earlier today with an enchanting little tale titled,

This afternoon's brain-teaser is a devilish twist on the child's game, "Duck, Duck ... GOOD GRIEF, IT'S A 25-INCH GOOSE!"

Theft Under $500—Someone took a 25-inch-tall concrete goose ornament from a front yard of a home in the 100 block of North Bridgeport Lane sometime between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 10, reports said.

“It should be noted that the goose was wearing a Fourth of July dress at the time of the theft,” reports said.

The owner estimated the value of the goose at $100.

Again, if you have information about this or any other baffling case, please contact the Geneva Police Department at at (630) 232-4736.

Editor's note, specifically to (I think) Jim James, who I recall as being very precise when it comes to concrete vs. cement: As we know, concrete is cement with gravel and sand added in. Since this is a goose, I'm guessing cement, but the report said concrete, so that's how it's presented here. We invite any and all comments, but we cringe imagining what they might be.
