This is the first of several unusual case reports found this week in the Geneva police blotter.

We don't have any truly freaky occurrences to report from this week's Geneva police blotter, but we have a number of different and unique ones to file, for the pleasure of any sleuths out there.

The first we'll call, The Case of the Missing Lawnmower.

Theft Under $500—Someone took a Troy-Built XP seft-propelled lawn mower from a home in the 300 block of Colonial Circle between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 11, reports said.

The resident told police she had been mowing the lawn in her front yard when she turned the mower off to attend matters in the house. She left the mower in the area between the sidewalk and the street.

When she returned, the lawnmower was gone.
