Police Reports: Here's What Happened in That April 20 Four-Car Crash on Randall Road

Police blotter: Witnesses said car swerved into right lane, bumped one car, the back of another, then crossed the median before hitting a third car head on.

A four-car accident on South Randall Road last week resulted in two people taken to Delnor Hospital.

Police reports released this week indicate that the driver, Lu Ellen Dunlop, 66, of Geneva, drove her Chevrolet Equinox into one vehicle, hit the back end of another, then crossed the median before striking a third vehicle head on.

A witness told police the Equinox did not slow down until it came to a stop after the head-on collision.

The accident stopped traffic on Randall Road and took place around 12:43 p.m. April 20, Geneva police reports said.

According to reports, the front of a Dunlop's Equinox swerved into the rear driver’s side of a Honda Accord driven by Marilyn Kaiser, 80, of St. Charles. The Equinox caromed into the rear of a Cadillac Esplanade driven by Craig Dohner, 44, of St. Charles, then crossed the center line and struck the front of a southbound Nissan Pathfinder driven by Esther Anderson, 54, of Elburn.

The accident took place in the 800 block of South Randall Road about 200 feet south of Kaneville Road, reports said.

Dunlop and Anderson, the drivers of the vehicles that crashed head on, were taken to Delnor Hospital. Kaiser and Dohner refused treatment, according to reports.

A spokesperson for Delnor Hospital said Wednesday that Dunlop was transferred to an acute-care hospital and Anderson was treated and released.
