Police Reports: Cannabis Tales, Public Intoxication, Underage Drinking and More

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here's a roundup of January alcohol- or cannabis-related arrests, plus an unusual criminal trespass arrest, as reported in the Geneva police botter.

Public Intoxication, Criminal Damage to Property Under $300—Someone pried open the trunk of a Chrysler Sebring sometime between noon Jan. 3 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 4, reports said. The owner told police he observed the trunk to be slightly ajar when he left the Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road, at around 11:30 a.m. Jan. 4, but he was unsure whether the damage occurred there. No items were missing from the trunk. The cost of repairing the damage was unknown at the time the report was filed.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor—Geneva police arrested Jacob Landau, 20, of Geneva on charges of speeding and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor around 2:51 a.m. Jan. 5 after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of West State Street, reports said. According to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Landau “knowingly consumed an alcoholic liquor” and has a court date of March 5 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road. He also was cited for having no valid driver’s license and travelling 42 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Criminal Trespass to Property—Geneva police arrested William Komes, 53, whose address is listed as “homeless, St. Charles,” on a charge of criminal trespass to property after an incident at around 3:01 a.m. Jan. 7 at Delnor Hospital, reports said. According to the synopsis sheet, Delnor emergency room staff had given discharge orders from a physician, but Komes refused to leave until police arrived and arrested him.

Possession of Drug Equipment—Geneva police arrested Jordan Ludwig, 25, of Geneva on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended around 9:27 a.m. Jan. 3 in the area of 33W401 Roosevelt Road, reports said.  Ludwig possessed a brown “hitter box” containing a metal smoking pipe, according to the complaint in the 16th Judicial Circuit Court. Ludwig has a court date of Feb. 5 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Cannabis Possession, Speeding, DUI and More—Geneva police arrested Michael Knuth, 35, of Aurora on multiple charges around 2:06 a.m. Jan. 6 after a traffic stop on Batavia Avenue, reports said. According to the booking card, Knuth was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, two counts of unsafe lane changes, speeding, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana. Knuth has a court date of March 6 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles.
