Police Reports: 3 Hits, 3 Runs, Nobody Left on Base

From the traffic roundup: Three hit-and-runs among the reports in Geneva.

Growing up as a Cubs fan, I've always enjoyed when the announcer du decade (Jack Brickhouse when I was a kid) would say after the top half of a home-game inning these delightful words, "No runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left on base ... "

That meant the other team did no damage and it was the Cubs' turn to bat.

It's kind of the same thing with the police blotter. The best are when there are no hits and runs. But that's not the case in this roundup. Here are three from the blotter:

Hit & Run—An unknown vehicle struck a Toyota Camry parked on private property in the 1400 block of South Randall Road (County Highway 34) near Fargo Boulevard between 4 and 8 p.m. Feb. 18, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to the Camry. 

Hit & Run—An unknown vehicle struck the driver’s side rear of a Dodge Caravan parked in the 1200 block of Shoop Drive near Herrington Road around 6 p.m. Feb. 12, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to the Caravan.

Hit & Run—An unknown vehicle struck the rear of a Dodge Neon parked on private property in the 1100 block of East State Street near Glengarry Drive around 3:04 p.m. Feb. 24, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to the Neon, according to reports.
