Police Release Names After Sunday's Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Kirk Road

Preliminary investigation indicates alcohol, drugs were not a factor in the Sunday motorcycle-versus-pickup crash that killed Angela M. Tedesco, 48, of Bolingbrook.

The Geneva Police Department on Monday released the names of the three people involved in the Sunday-evening fatal motorcycle-versus-pickup-truck crash on Kirk Road near Division Street.

Killed in the crash was the passenger of the motorcycle, Angela M. Tedesco, 48, of the 500 block of Emerson Circle in Bolingbrook. Her husband, Michael A. Tedesco, 50, was the driver of the motorcycle in the crash. He was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. A hospital spokeswoman said he is in stable condition.

Tadesco was pronounced dead at Delnor Hospital in Geneva at around 7:48 p.m. Sunday after the driven by Kevin A. McElwain, 19, of the 600 block of Timber Ridge Drive, Bartlett.

Police reports said McElwain was traveling north on Kirk Road approaching Division Street shortly before 5:45 p.m. Sunday when he attempted to make a U-turn prior to the intersection. The Tedescos were traveling south when their 2001 Harley Davidson struck the GMC Sierra pickup truck, according to the Police Department press release.

McElwain was treated and released at the scene.

After a preliminary investigation, police said it does not appear that drug or alcohol use was a factor in the cause of the accident.

"The accident remains under investigation, and the cause of the accident has not been determined at this time," the press release said.
