UPDATE: Police Seek Suspect in Monday Night Bank Robbery

The First State Bank, 323 W. State St. in Geneva, was reportedly robbed at about 4:45 p.m. Monday. This is the fourth robbery for the Tri-Cities area in less than two weeks.

Geneva police are investigating the armed robbery of the First State Bank early Monday evening.

A man entered the bank, which is located at 323 W. State St., at about 4:45 p.m. Monday and implied to an employee that he had a gun, according to police. He then demanded money and fled.

Police did not have a figure immediately available for the amount of money stolen.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male/black
  • 20 to 30 years old
  • 5 feet, 8 inches tall to 5 feet, 10 inches tall
  • 160 to 180 pounds
  • Wearing a black puffy jacket, black winter hat and light brown glasses

Anyone who saw someone matching this description near the bank's location at the time of the robbery is asked to contact the at 630-232-4736.

This is the fourth robbery overall for this area in less than two weeks:

  • At about 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 23, a male suspect walked into the Batavia Subway at 13 S. Randall Rd. He displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, demanded and received money. For a suspect description and picture, click .
  • At about 12:37 a.m. on Nov. 26, two men in ski masks walked into the St. Charles Domino's Pizza at 1450 W. Main St. The two men brandished a gun, bound the employees' wrists and got away with about $1,300. Read more about this incident .
